Glide Free started with the LASER © dingy as it was considered the most difficult boat to foil. It has the largest displacement to sail area and weighs 60 kg. Once we achieved this milestone, all other boats seemed so much easier to get foiling. We have developed a standard centerboard casing that our team of engineers can modify to suit any center board casing using the latest CNC machinery.
Our standard foils for Laser, O’pen Skiff and Aero all started with client requests to get their boat to foil. Once others showed interest in this development, we tooled up to make these specific foils part of our standard range.
Feel free to share your boat’s details with us. Maybe we have already had success with our custom foils for your boat class.
We have already supplied foils for numerous classes of dinghy. Send us your boat details to assess if it is ready to foil. We are always interested to work on custom design projects.

A key part of learning to foil is good instruction right from the beginning. We recommend the RYA Foiling Courses conduced at RYA centres.
You can also visit the Andrew Simpson Foundation coaching centres such as Lake Garda where you can test sail a foiling Laser, Aero. Melges 14 or Bic today, all using our Glide Free Foiling kits.
If you are interested to use our Glide Free kits, please give us a call to discuss.
Glide Free was started to develop sailing kits to allow existing sailing dingy to foil. Many lightweight high-performance sailing boats exist that foil.
